Update to the latest version of WhatsApp from each application store. When finished, follow the steps below.

I have used screenshots from the iPhone application but there isn't much difference for Android.

1. Be sure to enable Location services on your device and let WhatsApp access it. If you are an iOS        user, real-time location sharing will not work in Low Power Mode, so deactivate it before                    continuing.
2. Open WhatsApp and select a conversation from each contact or group that you want to share the          location directly.
3. Now, tap the + icon (iOS) and paperclip / attach attach icon (Android) and select Location.

5.  If you are on the latest version then you will see a new option "Share Live Location". Tap on it.

-6. Allow WhatsApp to access your location even if you don't use it.
7. Next, it will ask you for a time until you want to share your location. The available options are 15 minutes, 1 hour and 8 hours. Choose as you wish. Add a description and send it like you would for another message.

With this, your location will be divided for the time specified above with the selected contact / group.

You can always stop sharing before the selected time by tapping Stop Sharing under the direct location message and confirming it.

When you are traveling or on your way to your friend's house, the location directly on WhatsApp keeps your contacts informed about your location. This feature is another weapon added to the WhatsApp arsenal.
